Summer is around the corner!

June 1st! Countdown to the end of the school year for many kids and adults. Thoughts turn to warmer weather, fun in the summer sun, no homework, loads of free time. Well, at least for some people.

Summer is a good time to evaluate what has and has not worked well so far this year for you and your business. Take a moment, look outside at a beautiful blue sky and clear your mind. If you are lucky like me, you will see blue sky, some light clouds, and big, tall pine trees. I love the view from my window.

Did you make New Year resolutions regarding your business? How many of those resolutions have you kept? Is it time to make some new plans for the rest of the year?

The beauty of social media to me is the ever changing nature of it. There are so many choices of platforms to use, methods to implement, and options for communicating and sharing. If you get bored with something you are using it is fairly easy to find something new to try.

Are you stuck? Are you overwhelmed? For some, too many choices can be a bad thing. One of my mentors uses the term “analysis paralysis” and recommends limiting the amount of time you spend researching. This is good advice. If I do not limit myself I can easily spend too much time researching and end up spinning in circles with little accomplished.

Call me old fashioned, but I still love my pen and notebook. Actually, I have several notebooks. I have a notebook for each client and I have my “ideas” notebook. My “ideas” notebook is a catch all for notes about things that I want to research later, ideas for myself or clients, topics for blogs, things I want to learn, etc. I make notes in my client notebooks during our weekly status calls and when something occurs to me that I want to research further for the client or mention to the client during our next weekly status call.

I love living in an area that experiences seasonal changes. The change of season is a great opportunity to step back, clear the mind, evaluate and make plans for moving forward. I plan on making this a very productive summer. If I can help you, please contact me here.
